The human factor today is still the biggest security risk in the IT world. The technical security of networks is always better and safer. However, the human factor is often overlooked.

This point I would bring it closer with an example:

Let's suppose an employee XY created in the evening at home a presentation for the upcoming meeting. After he finished the presentation, he transfers the data to a USB stick. Arrived the next day in the company, he copy the created presentation into the company PC. However, employees XY has not noticed that his private computer has an virus. At very high probability he has copied the virus with the presentation in the corporate PC! How fast can you avoid expensive security devices (firewall, antivirus, ..)!!

You do not believe that this is the reality?

Then I immediately countered with an example in which hospitals, military, .. were infected via the USB interface. First the worm Conficker infected computers via a vulnerability of Windows and then spread very quickly through the USB interface from PC to PC.

How can prevent the USB Bouncer?

With the USB Bouncer, it is possible to define the USB mass storage to be approved) (white-listing procedures. And other USB mass storage devices will be the access denied.

In addition, the USB Bouncer Freeware and also for companies!

Example:

The company distributes each employee USB flash drive who also need it for daily work. This USB mass storage devices are allowed into the corporate network. Employees must sign a statement declaring with their agreement with the only connecting the USB flash drive, where the IT department allows it. If any employee believes it is the probability drastically reduced, to infect the coporate PC's and network over the USB port. Otherwise, the employee so violates the statement and is therefore liable!

By using the USB Bouncer employees can not use private USB mass storage devices (USB memory sticks,...) on company computers anymore!!
